The ranch was purchased by the Lawrence family in 2017 and has since grown into a vibrant, experience-driven operation. From the beginning, Vanessa Lawrence has led the ranch’s daily operations, shaping its growth through hands-on management and a deep love for animals and community.
Vanessa earned her MBA from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and spent decades building a successful career in the produce packaging industry. Today, she works as a Senior Account Executive for a premier produce packaging company, managing key West Coast accounts. Her business background plays a key role in how the ranch operates, blending strong organizational practices with authentic ranch life.
As interest in the property grew, Vanessa opened the ranch to the public, offering guided trail rides, riding lessons, pony rides, and custom ranch experiences. In 2025, she expanded the ranch’s offerings by launching SLO Party Animals, bringing mini ponies, mini donkeys, pigs, goats, and a beloved Highland cow to provide mobile and on-site animal experiences for families and events throughout the area.
Supported by a dedicated team, Vanessa remains closely involved in every aspect of the ranch. Looking ahead, her vision includes creating a nonprofit program focused on rescuing and rehabilitating animals and offering therapeutic, confidence-building experiences for the community.
